Whole set pressing die includes
  • One 1.0" × 1.0" (25.4 mm x 25.4 mm) Square core die made of hardened steel and highly polished
  • Hardness HRC 60 - 62.
  • One steel sleeve for core die protection
  • Two pushing rods (They are 12 mm and 50 mm long separately) highly polished and perfectly fitted into the die.
  • Two steel support plates
  • One steel cylinder for retrieving the sample.
  • Max. Load: 30 metric Ton (at room temperature), or 450 MPa equivalent

  1. The difference between round and square die is that the square pressing core can only be inserted into the die cavity in just one orientation. Once you received the die, please try a different direction until you can fully insert the pressing core.
  2. Due to manufacturing process technology, the surface of this square version is a little rougher than the round die.
  3. Due to the stress concentration near the corners, the core die may easily break if the pushing rods are subject to off-center compression. This product is NOT covered by warranty.
  • Please must always wear protective goggles during the operation !!!
  • The pressing die is not good for pressing powder with a particle size < 30 microns. Small particles may slip into the gap between the pushing rod and steel sleeve and cause damages to the sleeve during the compression. Ball mill and sieve the powder and apply the 32~75 microns powder to the pressing die to avoid damage
  • Please use alcohol to clean the pressing die every time before use and store it in a dry place with antirust oil after the operation to avoid rusting on the surface, because all pressing dies are made by high-stretched carbon steel for achieving high hardness to meet the essential requirements of making ceramic or metal samples. Otherwise, the pressing surface could probably get scratched.
  • To avoid damaging the die core and sleeve, we strongly recommend you use professional laboratory hydraulic presses which ensure the most even pressing interface and uniform pressure force.
  • For pressing sticky metal powders such as Al, Mg, Zn, it is necessary to use dry or alcohol-based tool lubricant to lubricate the die and sleeve set to reduce friction during the compression. 
  • Do not press flammable, explosive materials.
