Description
IMCS-700-LM is a compact melt-atomizer for low melting point the metallic materials up to 700°C, such as Li, Al, and Mg alloys, which is designed for preparing sphere particles in small quantities in the oxygen & humidity-free glovebox. A high-temperature ultrasonic atomizer up to 2000C is available upon request.( Thanks to Prof. Tu in UZJ to give us the opportunity to develop the new products )
SPECIFICATIONS:
The working principle
| - The metallic sample is melt in a heating furnace with a melt injection valve on the bottom up to 700oC via precision temperature control.
- The high-temperature ultrasonic rod with a disc is inserted into a stainless steel chamber and is rotated.
- The ultrasonic disc is heated when rotating by an induction heater.
- Open the furnace valve, and let melt flow to the heated ultrasonic disc, the melt will be atomized into the chamber to form small particles via ultrasonic vibration.

High Temperature Ultrasonic Atomizing Head | - Working Voltage: 208-240, single- single-phases
- Power consumption: 1500W Max
- Frequency: 20.0±0.5KHz
- Weight: ~20Kg
- Maxiworkingtemperature: 500ºC for continuously, and 700ºC for short time (30 minutes) (If melting Li sample, may choose 500W and 35KHz ultrasonic head at lower cost)
- The ultrasonic disc is heated by the induction coil on the bottom with digital temperature control
- Induction heating power supply: 220V, single-phase, 2 KW
- Induction coil: OD 110 x Φ8 mm
- Water cooling required if working temp/ > 400℃)
- Higher temperature version is vailable upon request.
|
Melter of Sample
| - Voltage: AC 220% +/-10%, single phase
- Power consumption: 800 W
- Max. working Temp.: 700℃
- Crucible: made of SS304 with the dimension of Φ115 x H150 (mm)
- Crucible capacity: 1000ml
- Temperature Controller: 30 segments programmable with PID control with +/- 1℃ accuracy
- Melt flow control: the small hole is on the bottom of the crucible. The tapered seal rod can adjust melt flow by opening the spacing. Melt passes through a heated SS304 tube into the conner of atomizing disc
|
Particle Collection Chamber
| - The collection chamber made of SS304 with the dimension of Φ460 x 360 mm (H)
- The chamber is not vacuum sealed. The vacuum chamber is available at the extra cost
- The atomized powder collection plate: Φ450 x H8 mm
- Scrap collection plate size: Φ210x H40 mm
|
Particle Collection Rate
| - The atomized powder shall pass through a sieve to get a uniform size
- Typical collection rate (Sn as an example)
- 150 mesh (<100 microns): ~ 75%
- 250mesh (< 60 micron): ~ 70%
- (Sn powder)
|
Optional & Warning | - Warning: collecting atomized powder in the air may cause a fire or explode
- The metallic atomizer must be operated inside the glovebox with inert gas. Please click the Pic. 2 or 3 to order the gloveboxes
- Two KF40 feed-throughs are included for connecting the induction heater to the outside glovebox.
- If the working temperature is > 400oC, recirculating a water chiller is needed to cool the induction heater. Please click Pic. 3 below to order
