CST520 Potential & current mapper uses a 10×10 array wire beam electrode (WBE) to simulate the surface of metal, cyclically scanning voltage/current of WBE surface to obtain the distribution of potential and current of the metal under coating or biological membrane, so as to characterize the localized corrosion behavior of metal materials.
With built-in voltage follower and zero resistance ammeter(ZRA), it can accurately measure the open circuit potential and galvanic current (vs.RE) of any single electrode, without external polarization to destroy the micro corrosion environment. It is particularly suitable for spontaneous corrosion behavior study of metals. CST520 integrates double-channel high precision data converter, with highest sampling resolution 24 bit, and highest sampling rate 1000Hz. The front-end uses chopper stabilizing zero amplifier, working with second-order low pass filter to eliminate the power-line interference effectively.
By automatically adjusting measurement range, CST520 can determine the signal magnification according to the current and potential value. Watchdog is used in the system  to improve the reliability of software operation. The instrument can connects to the PC by USB cable, and WBEScan software can achieve real-time display of row/column position of the WBE, and the corresponding current/potential value.
Working Principle
CST520 potential & current mapper with wire beam electrode is controlled by WBEScan software. Measured potential and current value is displayed directly on the computer screen, and the data can be imported to Origin to show the potential & current distribution of the WBE surface with 3D graphs. (See the pic.4.) It can be concluded from the pic.4 that there are three regions where the potential is relatively negative, and in the current graph on the right, there are negative current at the same region, which means severer corrosion occurs in these three regions of the WBE surface.

Applications
CST520 can be used for measuring the surface potential and current in the inducing, developing and inhibitory process of metal localized corrosion, and can be used to study crevice corrosion, under-deposit corrosion, and the non-uniform metal corrosion behavior under the biological membrane, coating, and anti-rust oil film.
