MSK-SFM-3-II is a dual jar high energy ball mill with 3D movement which can mill two types of powder into nanoscale at the same time.  It has a higher impact force created by three-dimensional movement, e.g. rotation, vibration and oscillation with frequency up to 1000 RPM.  The 24VDC motor is built-in with the separated and programmable control unit, which can be operated inside a glovebox with Argon gas.

Standard Milling Jars & Media
  • Two 80 ml Nylon Jars with 2 sets of Zirconia milling balls (4 pcs of 11.5 mm, 10 pcs of 10 mm, and 10 pcs of 8mm) are included. It is suitable for grinding / milling the materials with minimized contamination .  
  • Two 80 ml Stainless Steel Jars with 2 sets of SS milling balls (2x20 pcs) are included
  • Attention:  Max. feeding capacity: < 1/3 jar's

Control Unit
  • The separated control box for remote operation in a glove box or fume hood.  
  • ( If using inside the glove box, you need to order KF40 feedthrough at the extra cost of $600.00)

  • Time control:   0 - 30 minutes adjustable 
  • Three segments programmable  via color touch screen for forwarding rotation, backward  rotation, and running time

Note:  To achieve finer or desired particles via ball mill is a research project, which is dependent on the material to be milled, grinding time and speed, combination of grinding jar and milling ball etc.  It is the user's responsibility to find the best milling procedure based on the material.  Buyers are welcomed to MTI laboratory at California test before purchase.

Application Notes
  • Attention: In order to achieve the best grinding effects, it is suggested to use milling balls with a diameter of less than 10mm for a 50ml alumina  jar
  • Tips for choosing proper jars and milling media for milling and grinding application:
    • SS mixing jar is suitable for grinding various metal materials
    • For milling the oxide material, please choose Nylon or alumina/zirconia jar and media
  • Please consider our SYU-3 Ultrasonic Filtration System for filtering the product.
  • DO NOT USE stainless steel balls in Alumina jars or vice versa to avoid contamination. 
  • Bulk samples must be crushed before grinding. Please consider MTI Jaw crusher ( click pic below right )
