VTC-W200 is an economic vacuum wire melt spinning system for the research lab to prepare amorphous metallic wire < 20-micron diameter via induction heating and rapid quenching on a specially designed spinning copper wheel. SPECIFICATIONS:

  • The system consists of the vacuum chamber and induction heating with a spinning wheel with max. 70 meter /sec. spinning speed
  • Can melt metallic sample around 10 - 50 g per batch. up to 2000oC.
  • Customer can use own vacuum pump and water chiller to save cost

  • Input Voltage: 208 - 240V AC, Three Phases
  • Input Power: 20 KW ( 70A breaker required)
Vacuum Chamber
Vacuum pump
  • Vacuum chamber: 400 mm  diameter  x 350 mm L
  • Hinged type door with quartz glass observation window
  • KF40 port to connect to a vacuum pump
  • Can achieve 5 x10 E-5 torrs by a turbopump
  • A 2-meter long quench tube is included to receive spun wire
Induction Heater
  • Dual Station 15KW Induction Heater 
  • Frequency:           30 - 80 kHz
  • Crucible:         Ф15×50mm  made of BN
  • Max. sample load: around 2 - 5 g ( Fe)
Spinning wheel
  • Flying wheel made of  Oxygen Free Copper
  • Dimension φ220 × 30mm
  • 0 - 70 meter / second adjustable
Wire ( silk)  diameter
  • Wire (silk) diameter is dependable on material and dipping depth
  • For Fe base alloy  usually can achieve < 100-micron diameter
  • FeSiBNbCu alloy amorphous wire in about 50-micron diameter
